In 1963, Cadillac’s long-running V8 received its first major revision.  Bore, stroke, valves, rocker arms, cylinder heads, compression (10.5:1), and connecting rods remained unchanged, but nearly everything else was different.  The ’63 version featured a lighter, stronger crankshaft, a stiffer block weighing 50 pounds less than the previous one, and ancillaries that were located to improve service access.
